Lee Winton, Oakdale Rural Fire Department’s new Chief, was the speaker at the Knights Ferry Community Club’s meeting. He introduced himself, told about his previous job and how his first week on this new job was going. Club Secretary, Kim Whittey, was back on the job after recovering from a horrible car crash in March. The upcoming Zero Party was discussed. This party honors all that have a birthday this year that ends in a 0. It will be September 26th starting at 5:30 p.m. at the clubhouse. Bring a dish to share and what you would like to drink. This always is a fun event.

It startled the rafters coming around the bend, as the Griesner beach is a favorite stopping spot for the rafters. The rafters wanted to know if it was private property - (YES)! The rafters like pulling out of the water and climbing the rocks and jumping in the river, even though the rafting companies say not to do that.
