At the Knights Ferry School Board meeting, the board accepted Bill Frias’ resignation from the board. The board decided to do a provisional appointment for the last two years of Bill’s term. If interested turn in a written letter stating your intent by December 2nd. Superintendent Griffiths discussed the API scores for the last 7 years. Small school scores are less reliable and should be carefully interpreted. The socioeconomics of the children has also changed. The scores are still over the 800 mark. The teachers reminded the public that November 22nd is the annual Thanksgiving Feast put on by the Junior High at the clubhouse at 11:00 a.m. It is open to the community.

Congratulations go out to five Knights Ferry Students whose art work is in this year’s Salmon Calendar: Aubrey Mendonca, River McCarthy, Ember Harris, Olivia Doshas and Braden Sousa. They were honored at the Salmon Festival. Thanks go out to Lynn Duckworth and her son Shasta for setting up the stage and chairs in the park for the festival. Local talent Randy Mandy Band played, as did Rilyn Cassaretto and Stella Flodman.

The Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors reappointed Ric Feichter, Carla Doshas, Dolleen Haskell and Jeremy Page to the Knights Ferry Municipal Advisory Council.

Lots of people are looking at the salmon in the river. There are a lot more fish than last year. Unfortunately the trout are also there, waiting to eat the eggs.

Carol Davis has returned from spending some time at her son Bruce’ s home where she got to see all four grandchildren, and of course did some shopping!
