It was good to see Danielle Frymire here visiting grandparents Phil and Carmen and dad Phillip and Lisa. She flew out for a friend’s birthday and visit. Danielle has passed her Emergency Medical Technician Skills Practical. She is thinking about moving back to sunny California, the snow looses its charm after three days!

Last Friday Gayle Diltz heard a loud noise and Don looked out the front door and there was a helicopter landing on the court. A motorcyclist had wrecked on Orange Blossom and the court was a good place for the medical helicopter to land.

Knights Ferry School had a Patriotic Assembly last Friday before their mid-winter break. Rossean Hunter and her dog Levi were invited to lead off the show. Levi played the piano, rolled spools, played basketball, belly crawled and hid in a box and then popped out all to patriotic music. Levi was a big hit! Then the school did the flag salute and First Graders and Kindergarteners sang “It’s a Grand Old Flag.” Sophia Thompson and Hayden Casseretto explained the Second Graders works, patriotic pictures made from their handprints. The Third and Fourth Graders put on a skit “Name That President” with contestants from the audience. The Fifth and Sixth Graders read their patriotic Haikus. The Seventh and Eighth graders drew historical people and Marina Bratton, Kaeli Sturtevant and Elise Seeds explained how they had to draw them copying them upside down! It was an art exercise to help train the eye. All sang the “Star Spangled Banner” and were dismissed for vacation.
