Knights Ferry Garden Club met last Wednesday at the home of Carol Davis. Knights Ferry resident Jill McPhee, who works for Westurf Nursery in Modesto, gave a presentation on making hanging baskets, with her special “twist” on placing the plants. It was very inspiring. All wanted to make some. Teri Foster won the finished product. Jill also showed a new item, a hanging plastic planter pouch for walls or fences. She planted it with strawberries and Bev Hay won it. Carol served a delicious lunch after the presentation.

At the Knights Ferry School Board meeting Superintendent Griffiths told of a purse stolen from a mother’s car when dropping off a Kindergarten student last Thursday. In just a brief time someone took advantage of the unlocked car with the purse inside. The school is reviewing their security camera film. Let this be a warning – don’t leave your purse in the car just for a few minutes!

Former Knights Ferry resident (and KFS student) Mallory Abbott was married to Wren Todd at the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had a local reception last Saturday evening at the LDS Chapel in Oakdale. Family and friends gathered to wish them a long and happy marriage. Many tasty desserts were served. Mallory will graduate this year with a major in Music Performance. Her sister Hannah and husband are expecting a child in June. Oliver Abbott and his wife just had a baby boy and Kelley Abbott and his wife just had a baby girl. Jenni Abbott is excited with all the new grandchildren but wishes they all didn’t live in Utah. It was a lovely evening.
