Birthday greetings for the month of December go out to: Betty Rogers, Owen Haskell, James Haskell, Greg Haskell, Dylan Mack, Katie Feichter, Amanda Wright, Denise Ray, Marissa MacDonald, Charles Wong, Kim Konberg, Lisa Frymire, Fred Dolling, Dennis Hitch, Chris Lewis, Beckie Rorabaugh, Charlie Mynatt, Tom Crom, Haley Page, Nicole Brunker, Helga Kaiser, Annette Arias, Christian Baker, Brandon Carroll, Pam Fondse, Colby Wallace-George, Reba Morgan, Jordan Haycock and Matthew Largent.

There was a Karaoke contest at the River’s Edge last Friday. Winner of the Best Traditional song was Lora Mills singing “Silent Night.” She won $100. Best Humorous went to Lisa Frymire and Sara Harris as they sang to “Santa” (Phil Frymire in tattoos) their own Knights Ferry rendition of “Santa Baby.” They split $100. It was quite an evening!

Orange Blossom 4-H met for their December meeting and brought table decorations to be judged and then given to the care center. Winner for the best-folded tree went to Emma Morales. The best use of three objects went to the Morales family. Andi Jones won the best use of snow category and Sophie Jones won the best use of a Santa. The most glitter went to Izzy Morales and the tallest gold tree went to Petra Morales. Elissa Simons won the most colorful centerpiece category. Petra Morales had the tallest green tree and Emma had the tallest gold tree.  Izzy Morales made the fullest green tree. These will look lovely on the care home’s tables. The 4-Her’s enjoyed carols, refreshments and decorating the tree with socks and mittens for the underprivileged children.

Knights Ferry Elementary School held their Winter Program on the 17th. Leah Armario welcomed everyone then Band Director Natalie Brockman directed Alissa Baize, Peyton Paul and Charles Wong in Christmas Carols. Eighth Graders read poems between songs sung by the Kindergarteners through Fourth Grade, led by Choral Director Melanie Mesker. Refreshments were served and a visit from Santa ended the evening.

The Oakdale Model A Car Club enjoyed a Christmas dinner and meeting at the River’s Edge. They collected toys for the Oakdale Police Department.

There will be a Christmas Eve service on Thursday, Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. at the River’s Edge for the Knights Ferry Community Church. All are welcome. Refreshments will be served following the service.
