Easter was really iffy on Saturday night what with all the lightning, thunder and rain. It really was a show! Sunrise Service had some clouds in the East but the weather was mild. The rest of the day was perfect!

At the MAC meeting last Thursday California Highway Patrolman Anthony Palazuelos discussed the recent crime wave in the Ferry. At the last meeting he was advised of the recent break-ins. He got on it and now there are two people arrested as suspects and a lot of recovered items. Deputy B. Kirkbride showed a video of some of the recovered items, mainly jewelry and the people in the audience were allowed to check if anything was theirs. If you have had items stolen, contact a MAC member on how to see the video. Due to the quick work and the very helpful tips, these individuals were found. There are more people of interest, as it seems not only was Knights Ferry targeted but Oakdale as well. The MAC thanked the officers for their quick work. Also they reminded all to keep a watchful eye out for anything out of the ordinary and report it, getting license plate info really helps.

Also at the MAC, Heather Wright announced she has been promoted to Senior Ranger for all the Stanislaus River Parks. Congratulations! Under old business, a response from AT & T on their building expansion told of the need to remove a dying tree, protect the existing trees, and move the sprinkler valve. Sherron McCarthy told of the inability to use the Knights Ferry Stamp to cancel letters. Oakdale Post Office said everything has to be metered, and the Ferry does not have a meter. Jeremy Page handed in his resignation from the MAC due to work.
