Knights Ferry

There was a large turnout for the memorial service for Sherron McCarthy despite the rain. Pastor Bob led the service. Everyone then gathered at the clubhouse for food and sharing. One of the comments heard that afternoon was the only time we see a lot of old friends is at funerals. There was a bounce house for the children as Sherron enjoyed the little ones. She did a lot for the community and she will be missed!

The Rodeo Parade was a little wet but that didn’t stop the fun. Knights Ferry School had a float showing their Bobcat Pride. Over 40 children rode on the float and the principal, Dr. J walked alongside. The Rodeo itself was a bit muddy!

At the Community Club meeting, President Chris Peterson outlined a list of things that need to be done. On the list is a fire alarm system, carpet for the stage, sand floors, vents to air under the building, ramp for handicap and restroom updates. Also a website, and some music nights to just get together. The Car Show was discussed and all said it was a very great happening. Tasha Sweet reported that the Knights Ferry School’s auction and dinner raised $30,000. Not bad for a school of 100 children. The latest on the Post Office was discussed. We won’t know any more until after a meeting on Tuesday.
