Knights Ferry News 7-13-22

Alec Ray, son of Denise and Roger Ray, has graduated from Grove City College in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and a minor in Robotics. He has started his internship at E. & J. Gallo Winery in Modesto. Congratulations Alec!

In June, three of Alec and brother Jordan’s roommates from college flew to California for 10 days. They turned into tour guides for their friends: a Giants baseball game, Monterey Aquarium, Lake Tahoe, Calaveras Big Trees, Murphys, Yosemite, trout fishing at Clark’s Fork, Knights Ferry Museum, walking through the Covered Bridge, and kayaking down the Stanislaus. They had a great time.

The weekend before the Fourth of July was pretty busy in town but on Monday, the fourth, things were fairly quiet around town. Many of the local families gathered on the tennis courts to enjoy their safe and sane fireworks. Dakota and Tristan Voortman led the fireworks show for the group.

The Community Club’s Freedom picnic was well attended last Thursday. There were a few new faces mixed in with the regular locals and it was wonderful to see people gather to enjoy one another’s company. Thank you to the Club for providing a nice dinner and air-conditioned space for all to enjoy.
