There were a lot of people in attendance at the Oakdale Rural Fire Board meeting. The board cleared up the rumor that the Knights Ferry station was being sold, it is not. The survey was commissioned because the LaDonne family said the station was over on their property. No sales were planned in the future. The historical structures in the Ferry were discussed, as they are wooden structures. The Fire Board said all such buildings should be alarmed and monitored for quick response. The Fire Chief is working on staffing both stations but has to work with the union on this. Board member Don Armario stated that all persons should have a smoke detector in the attic as a fire can burn there for a while without being detected.
