Civil War days are finally here! I hope everyone plans to attend the Civil War reenactments this weekend. Knights Ferry creates a beautiful backdrop for the reenactors to shoot their canons and guns while they entertain the crowd of onlookers sitting on the hillside. In my opinion, the best show time is Saturday at 3 p.m. because the Spaghetti dinner fundraiser starts at 5 p.m. in the Community Club! It’s perfect to take the family or friends for dinner before the drive home.

Please continue to provide the Knights Ferry Community Church with craft donations to sell at their upcoming Bazaar in the Community Club. The Bazaar is coupling with the Classic Car Show on April 7. Please contact Dolly Haskell for further information. The donations received from the Bazaar will go toward mandatory repairs to the historic building.

The ODD Fellows will host their breakfast both Saturday, April 7 and Sunday, April 8. Please note there will not be a breakfast on April 1 because it is Easter Sunday.

Most of the town saw the large white tent stationed on the tennis courts for the weekend for the 21st Annual Dinner and Auction benefiting Knights Ferry School. The sold-out fundraiser was an immense success and will allow the Knights Ferry Parent Teacher Club to continue to assist the school staff in any way they can. Thank you to all those who planned, volunteered, donated, and attended the fundraiser. A highlight decoration of the Vegas-themed fundraiser was the “Welcome to Fabulous Knights Ferry, California” lighted sign created by local, Michelle Patton. It was a very special touch and we hope to see it displayed for other town events!

Be mindful of the road work in the middle of town. Public Works hopes to finish their work in a timely manner. Please be patient and allow extra time to pass through town.
