We haven’t had much rain or snow this winter but it was during this time in 1862, the main street of town was completely underwater. In late December of 1861 there was a heavy snow fall followed by a warm winter week. On January 10, 1862, much of Knights Ferry was flooded. The flood levels were around 37 feet and said to be higher than any previous recorded levels and washed away many buildings. The General Store has marks on its walls to show the water levels from several floods.
