The sun rose from behind a small cloud Easter morning, shining on the faithful gathered at the Frymire cross. Pastor Curt Willems led the songs and gave the words of the day. Carmen Frymire spoke thanking the assembled for being such a “family.”

Oak Summit Assembly #128 just returned from the State Convention for Rainbow Girls held in Fresno on April 8-11. Nine girls and several adults attended the many workshops, luncheons and inspirational meetings. There were opportunities to see sewing projects, art and crafts as well as talent and speaking abilities that made the days go by quickly. The service project was “A Place Called Home” where homeless women and children can find food, shelter, craft and school supplies. Tutoring is also offered. The Rainbow Girls and the Masonic family donated over $71,000 to this worthy cause! Keep up the good work ladies and thanks for all the service you unselfishly give to your communities.

The Shearer Easter Bash saw many family and friends gather to celebrate the 39th event, which was the last one. Cousins (1 to 6 years old) enjoyed playing and seeing each other. The egg hunt for the plastic filled eggs was hard due to the tall grass, even though paths had been mowed. After a potluck lunch, with bar-b-qued beef in a barrel done by son-in-laws Scott Krippner and Andy Sandoval, an adult hunt for miniature bottles of booze took place. The rain started as things were winding down. It was a very enjoyable day. Many thanks go out to Leslie and Chris for getting the place in shape and for Cindy, Cathy, Victoria and Claire for getting the egg hunt organized.
