Please remind your family and friends that the river flows change during the fall months. Over the weekend, there were at least two instances of the rescue boats entering the river to look for someone who was stranded or in danger on the water. Make it habit to wear a life jacket and check the river’s flow before going on the river!

Knights Ferry School is gearing up for their multi-day Halloween celebration. Because the students attend school on different days, they will celebrate Halloween on Thursday, October 29th and Friday, October 30th! The staff is hard at work planning a Halloween carnival for the students on-campus with no parent volunteers or help however, they will keep the traditional parade through town. If you are interested in passing out candy during the parade through town, students will be parading both days at 1:15pm! Please remember to be considerate of the school’s regulations during this time, if you have questions feel free to contact the school during their business hours. There are many positive points to hosting a two-day parade for one, there will be less students at one time creating a less congested and less chaotic parade and another is the fact we will have two days of excitement in Knights Ferry! Who doesn’t love to see smiling children dressed up on a hunt for candy? Thank you, Knights Ferry School staff, for taking the time to make the best year for the students!

The local Odd Fellows tended to their adopted section of Highway 108 last week. They picked up enough trash to fill multiple large garbage bags! It was piled high on the side of the road at their Adopt-a Highway sign. Thank you to all the Odd Fellows who came out to help and keep our area beautiful!
