Jeff and Laura Watson renewed their wedding vows in front of their family and friends after 19 years of marriage. The wedding ceremony and reception was held in town. Laura was absolutely stunning in her lacy, white flowy wedding dress. The bridesmaid dresses, flowers, and decorations were beautiful shades of purple. Congratulations Jeff and Laura!

The power was out in town for most of Sunday afternoon. Most of the businesses were closed except the Creamery, which was able to power their store front with a generator.

Knights Ferry School had their Color Run fundraiser last Friday. The day was filled with good weather, upbeat music, laughter, and lots of color. The Color Run is a fundraiser planned by the Parent Teacher Club and they reported over $22,000 was raised for the school to go toward field trips, the school farm, teacher needs, classroom needs, playground equipment, enrichment programs, and so much more. A small school like Knights Ferry depends on these successful fundraisers to provide a well-rounded and fun education for the students. Some of the incentive items available for the students to earn included a water bottle sticker, a Wendy’s frosty voucher, a pair of sunglasses, a scoop of ice cream from the Knights Ferry Creamery. Aden Cavanaugh ran the most laps overall for boys with 42 laps and Genesis Minck ran the most laps overall for girls with 38 laps. Even Ms. Miller participated running 11 laps. Each class was able to reach their class fundraising goal and that meant each student was able to “pie” their teacher in the face. It was a site to see each student lined up with a plate filled with whipped cream getting ready to “pie” their teacher. Even Dr. J joined the fun and sat patiently for the students who raised over $500 as they lined up with another plate of whipped cream. The teachers and Dr. J were all good sports and it made it a memorable time for the students.

This Saturday is Love Knights Ferry. Meet in front of the Community Club at 8 a.m. to help out for a few hours to get the town ready for the Pumpkin Roll. Please bring some yard work tools if you can such as small garbage cans to gather leaves to take to the big dumpster, rakes, cobweb catchers, and even some garbage picker-uppers.
