Assemblymember, Heath Flora’s district staff will be at the Miller’s Hall on February 17th from 4:30-5:30pm for their monthly mobile district office hours. The district staff will be available to discuss state related issues and concerns on a first come first serve basis.

Knights Ferry School 5th-8th graders went on their coveted ski-field trip to Dodge Ridge on Friday. They rode a school bus up the mountain and enjoyed a beautiful day on the slopes.

Do you have gently used or new shoes that you would like to donate to a local cause? The Jr High students at Knights Ferry School are collecting shoes of kinds including cleats, boots, sandals, sneakers, heels, etc. They have teamed up with Funds2Orgs and will earn money just for turning in shoes. Funds2Orgs uses the donated shoes to create jobs by repurposing and reselling shoes in developing nations. By donating your shoes, you will be helping local students go to Washington, DC, create jobs in developing nations, and keep waste out of our landfills!

Donation locations are at Knights Ferry School and in front of the Odd Fellows Lodge, just be sure to look for the big red collection can. If you would like to arrange for someone to pick up your donation, contact Laura Watson via email, phone, or find her on Facebook. Laura’s contact information is 209-857-1180 and lwatson1004@outlook.com. She said their goal is to collect 2,500 pairs of shoes and as of right now, they have roughly 500 pairs. Clean out your closets and make your donation soon!
