Motorists will see some detours in Oakdale this week.

The J Street Phase II – Surface Improvements Project was scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Dec. 27. Work is expected to continue through Friday, Jan. 6 and will impact East J Street from South Yosemite Avenue through South Fifth Avenue.

Senior Engineering Technician Michael Renfrow with the City of Oakdale said during construction, the area will be closed to through traffic. There will be signage throughout the project area indicating the detours for motorists to use to get around the road closures.

Work hours for the surface improvement project are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
