It’s Fall Homecoming Week in Oakdale and the theme for 2025 is “Under The Mustang Lights” with the crowning of royalty and the Friday night football game taking center stage.

Monday was Under the Moon – Pajama Day on campus, while Tuesday was Under the Sea – dress like you live underwater. For Wednesday, it is Under Cover Day, with students encouraged to dress as a spy. For Thursday, Under the Spotlight Day, dress as a celebrity and Friday, Oct. 3 will be Under the Stadium Lights with students asked to dress in extreme red and gold.

Window painting was taken care of downtown over the weekend, seniors painting at Chase Bank, juniors assigned to Oak Valley Community Bank, sophomores painting at Starbucks and freshmen at Cahoots.

Crowning of the King and Prince will be done at the Homecoming Rally the morning of Friday, Oct. 3. King candidates are Camden Knight, Reichen Haidlen, Wes Burford, Grant Gardner and Gavin Wyatt. Prince hopefuls are Griffin Gerber, Noah Vagneur, Trevor Powell, Evan Krum, Chase Dugo.

The parade will begin that day around 1:15 p.m., with all in the community encouraged to attend.

Crowning of the Homecoming Queen and Princess will be at halftime of the varsity football game in The Corral on Friday night. Those in the running for Homecoming Queen are Jordan Wylie, Madison McTague, Reese Donaldson, Bradie Evans, and Taylor Krum, while Princess candidates include Kaia Cox, Addison Wylie, Neveah Anderson, Ashtyn Sibley, and Bella Kesterson.

On the football field, the varsity Mustangs will be looking to put an exclamation point on the week with a victory in Valley Oak League play. The Mustangs are coming off their bye week and are currently 1-0 in league, 4-1 overall. They defeated Mountain House, 48-0, in their only VOL game so far this season. They will host East Union for the Homecoming contest; the Lancers come in at 2-0 in league, 6-0 overall. Their league wins have included a 69-14 win over Sierra and a 27-21 victory over Patterson.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
