Chief Search Update Due

A regular meeting of the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District Board is scheduled for Thursday, April 13 at 6 p.m. and the session is expected to include an update on the search for a new fire chief.

Under committee reports on the agenda, board member Dave Woods and board vice president Michelle Guzman are to present an update on the fire chief contract negotiations, as they hope to bring Richard Weigele on board following the resignation of outgoing chief Matt Daly. The last day for Daly will be Friday, April 21.

In Closed Session, action is scheduled to include consideration of an employee appointment (fire chief) and action items on the agenda following a report out of closed session include considering the employment agreement for Weigele.

The board is also expected to consider approval of the 2017-19 Memorandum of Understanding between the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District and Stanislaus Consolidated Firefighters Local 3399, as well as consider approval of a revised summary of wages and benefits for non-safety personnel.

Consent items on the board’s calendar include approval of a board letter in support of the district’s SAFER – Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response –grant application.
