Oakdale resident Nicole Vejar is putting together and currently selling tickets for a fundraiser for Oakdale Police Department Lieutenant Andy Stever and family.

Stever and his wife Breanna have an infant son who was born with a heart defect and has been at a pediatric center since November. Their son will need open heart surgery before he is released to go back home with his family and older siblings.

The Stevers currently take turns driving back and forth to Sacramento to be with their son, all while taking care of their other kids and working.

Vejar said she wanted to create a fundraiser in order to raise awareness and money to help the family with driving costs, medical bills, and any other thing they need to bring their boy back home.

The fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday Jan. 29, from 5 p.m.to 7 p.m. and will include a silent auction, live music, drinks, and hearty appetizers. It will be hosted at the Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., Oakdale, and tickets for the event are currently available for $45 per person, and will close for sales on Saturday, Jan. 22. Payment can be made by either contacting Vejar at 209-872-1629 for cash or check, or through Venmo at stever-strong.

If attending is not an option but you still want to donate, a GoFundMe is posted through Facebook or Venmo as well.
