Delicato Family Wines is hosting its 33rd Fine Art Show and entries are currently being sought.

Artists who would like to participate in the art show can submit entries to the Delicato Tasting Room now through Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023. An application may be obtained by phoning 209-824-3678/209-824-3501; e-mailing Laurie.bacigalupi@delicato.com or by visiting the Tasting Room in Manteca. It is also posted on the Tasting Room website at www.dfvtastingroom.com.

Up to five pieces per artist may be entered in the competition, at a cost of $9 per entry. The Fine Art Show is open to entries by the creators of original art produced within the last three years. The Manteca Tasting Room staff will be accepting entries from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The exhibit itself will run from Saturday, Feb. 4 through Saturday, Feb. 25.

Mediums of acrylic, watercolor, pastel, oil, charcoal or ink will be accepted. Judging of the original pieces in the seven categories of Landscape, Floral, Portrait, Animals, Whimsical, Seascape and Other will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28. If all categories receive sufficient entries, 20 awards totaling over $1,600 will be given to category winners.

The judge for 2023 is Susie Hoffman. After retiring from teaching sixth grade, Hoffman took advantage of the opportunity to try her hand at art. She started with watercolor and has since branched out into working in most media. She and her husband, Larry, created the art center Town Hall Arts in Copperopolis, where she has enjoyed classes taught by many foothill artists over the last 13 years. She also teaches beginning art and is the featured artist at Galerie Copper in Town Hall Arts at Copper Valley Square.

The public is encouraged to come and visit the judged art that will be on display in the Tasting Room; all art in the show will be available for sale on a first come basis. Visitors will also be able to cast a vote for their favorite piece of art and the winning artist will receive the coveted Visitors’ Choice Award.

Delicato Vineyards is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is off Highway 99 at exit 246, four miles north of Manteca.
