An Oakdale Halloween House Display is being planned for this month, and local residents are being asked to consider joining in the fun.

Decorate your home, business, porch, lawn, etc. with cool, creepy, cute, crazy or terrifying Halloween scenes. This is not a contest, just a fun way for the community to share in the Halloween spirit.

Décor must be up from Saturday, Oct. 23 through Sunday, Oct. 31 to be included on a ‘drive-by list’ of homes decorated for the spooky holiday.

Decorations will be viewed at night by the public, so lighting is encouraged.

Participants are asked to keep decorations and lights on from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily from Oct. 23 through Halloween night. The drive by list and map/viewing route will be publicly posted on Saturday, Oct. 16. Houses must be ready by Oct. 23 for viewing.

The bigger, the better, said Velasco, and remember the houses will be viewed at night. Enjoy: Leave the decorations up from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily, Oct. 23 to Oct. 31 for community members to drive by and enjoy.

Velasco said this event is designed to serve up some safe and spooky Halloween fun for the entire community.
