Entries Being Sought For Downtown Parade
holiday

Coordinators of the annual Oakdale Christmas parade are encouraging the community to bring their twinkle and holiday spirit for the fun, family-friendly event scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m.

Parade entries are sought for the festive event hosted by the Oakdale Enrichment Society (OES) with availability on a first-come, first-serve basis, so don’t dally and get those applications turned in.

The parade begins at Oak and Poplar Street and travels down Poplar/E Street to Second Street.

Interested parties should contact Cher Bairos at 209-496-1134 or email at OES95361@gmail.com

The parade is hosted on the same day as the annual Downtown Christmas, which will feature a Vendor Street Fair, photos with Santa and The Grinch, a petting zoo, food, music and more. The Christmas market downtown will run from 3 p.m. to p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4.

Meanwhile, before the Christmas festivities in early December, residents can enjoy the annual Cowboy Christmas this coming weekend, right after Thanksgiving. Set for Friday, Nov. 26 and Saturday, Nov. 27 at the Gene Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., there will be Western Art and Craft exhibitors, and Cowboy Santa will be on hand for family Christmas photos from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Hours for the free family event are Friday, Nov. 26 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
