OHS Food Drive Slated

Oakdale High School’s Leadership students are hosting a canned food drive from Monday, Nov. 18 through Friday, Nov. 22. Students and staff can drop off cans anytime to room K-3 on campus.

Leadership student Bailey Zuk reported that their goal is collect about 1,000 cans and non-perishable food items to donate to Center for Human Services in Oakdale.

Also a reminder that the Spirit of Oakdale effort is under way, with donations needed to help that organization host the community Thanksgiving Dinner on Nov. 28. Turkeys are especially needed. For more information about the community dinner and what you can contribute, contact Vickie Thompson at 848-0830 (leave a message) or Mickey Peabody at 471-9859. The Thanksgiving Day dinner runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., and is open to all at no charge.
