Stanislaus County Office of Education’s Prevention Programs Department is hosting a “Building Resiliency for College Success and Student Wellness” Workshop on Monday, March 20. The event will be offered at the Martin Petersen Event Center, 720 12th St., Modesto, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The workshop is open to all Stanislaus County college bound students as well as their parents, and will discuss the common pitfalls that families encounter as students make the transition into college. The workshop, to be facilitated by Jennifer L. Johnson, MSW, LCSW, will provide a number of tools to make the transition as smooth as possible and to increase the potential for success.

“Parents want their children to have a successful transition into college, and this workshop is simply going to highlight some effective skills to make it happen,” said Johnson.

The workshop is free to participants, thanks to the sponsorship of the County Board of Supervisors and Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. Those interested in attending can RSVP by calling 209-238-1367
