Cattle Breeders Win Big At Junior Field Day

Oakdale FFA members Caitlynn Hartzell and Harlee Burtschi, along with Orange Blossom 4-H members Carley Azevedo and Jakob Burtschi returned with championship awards, and some crowns, from the California Nevada Junior Hereford Association field day held June 15-17 in Angels Camp.

Harlee Burtschi had the Reserve Champion Horned Hereford bull, Division Champion Horned Hereford bull calf, Division Champion Horned Hereford heifer calf, Champion and Reserve Champion Horned Hereford cow/calf, and was fourth place in showmanship.

Jakob Burtschi had the Champion Hereford steer, Reserve Champion commercial heifer, and was the reserve champion showman in his age group.

Hartzell had the Reserve Champion Polled Hereford heifer and was the reserve champion showman in her age group.
Azevedo had the Division Reserve Champion Horned Hereford bull calf.

Hartzell was also crowned the CNJHA Queen and Harlee Burtschi and Azevedo were both crowned CNJHA Princesses.
