A drive-thru ‘Oakdale Community Pop-Up Baby Shower’ took place on Thursday, June 25 and was hosted by the Oakdale Family Resource and Counseling Center. It was a celebratory day, drive-thru style, for expectant or new mothers in Oakdale, Riverbank, and the surrounding areas, that may not have been able to celebrate the traditional way.

More than two dozen mothers received donations that consisted of diapers, baby wipes, clothes, toys and more. All donations were provided by Oakdale Soroptimist, Redeemer Oakdale, Jaylenes Baking, Savannah Sprague, and the LDS Church in Manteca.

The Oakdale Family Resource and Counseling Center is a center specializing in the family, providing a variety of services to the community and marks 50 years this year. Several events are put on throughout the year through the Oakdale Family Resource and Counseling Center like, Edible Extravaganza, Superhero Fun Run, and the Crab Feed Auction.

Officials were pleased with the day, the turnout, the ability to network with the new and expectant moms, and appreciative of the donations that made it possible.
