An Oakdale man is expected to face further court action following his arrest on child pornography charges.

Oakdale Police Detectives arrested Michael Bidwell, 60, of Oakdale, on Thursday morning, March 16, related to a child pornography investigation.

According to information provided by the police department, Oakdale Police investigators were made aware of a subject residing in Oakdale, who was downloading child pornography. With intelligence gathered and with additional assistance from forensic investigators, Oakdale detectives wrote and served multiple search warrants. The warrants led to the detectives finding the child pornography and ultimately resulted in the arrest of Bidwell.

Following his arrest for allegedly possessing matter depicting sexual conduct by a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor, Bidwell was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail for several charges related to Child Pornography.

He has since been released.
