Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 4-27-22
Fire calls

 

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, April 19 through Monday, April 25. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, APRIL 25

No time listed – B24, B23, G3, G27, E28, WT23, WT27 and BC5 responded for the report of a vegetation fire in the Hickman area. On scene crews found two acres of grass and dead oak trees down in a ravine. Crews worked for about four hours mopping up the fire.

 

SUNDAY, APRIL 24

Technical Rescue Team conducted trench training.

 

SATURDAY, APRIL 23

7 a.m. – Modesto E28, E27, T5 and BC5 responded to a single vehicle rollover at Highway 108 and Lancaster Road. E28 arrived on scene and found a vehicle off the embankment with two occupants. Both were treated on scene and one patient was flown out by helicopter to an area hospital with moderate injuries. CHP was on scene investigating the accident.

6:53 p.m. – After clearing a vehicle accident Modesto BC5 on viewed a vegetation fire at Claribel Road and Claus Road. BC5 requested SQ11 who had just cleared the accident to the scene to assist. The fire was quickly extinguished and overhauled.

7:51 p.m. – Modesto E27, E28 and BC5 responded to a vehicle accident at Claribel and Patterson roads. Units arrived and found a two-vehicle collision with one vehicle that had overturned. All occupants were checked and denied any medical complaints or injuries. E27 and BC5 remained on scene to assist with clean up and traffic control. CHP arrived on scene to investigate the accident.

 

FRIDAY, APRIL 22

8 a.m. – Members of the technical rescue team trained on trench rescue techniques.

 

THURSDAY, APRIL 21

Stanislaus County Public Works completed work on the drainage and ramp repair at Fire Station 29 in Knights Ferry.

10:30 a.m. – Engine 28, Grass 29, Engine 22, Water Tender 23, Escalon Water Tender 1-1 and BC2 responded to a reported almond hull fire on Highway 108. Engine 28 located a large pile of almond hulls on fire and crews worked on containing the fire with the landowner.

 

TUESDAY, APRIL 19

Crews rotated through Station 15 to finish off the annual fit testing for their self-contained breathing apparatus masks.

Crews conducted area familiarization.
