After an absence of a couple of years due to COVID concerns, the Civil War reenactment put on by the American Civil War Association will be back in Knights Ferry. The reenactment groups plan to arrive on Friday, March 24 to set up camps, both Union and Confederate troops, and the Civil War Days are Saturday and Sunday, March 25 and 26. Participants shown here from a prior reenactment fire their guns simultaneously to officially signal the conclusion of event. Camps are open for touring in between the battles, which are staged around the historic covered bridge in Knights Ferry near the Stanislaus River Park area. There are two scheduled battles each day over the weekend and the forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s.
