The next meeting of the Escalon-Farmington Community Garden Club is scheduled on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m.

Scheduled guest speaker is Barry Barlow, who will talk about orchids and their care. The meeting will be hosted at the Farmington United Methodist Church, 25626 Elm St, Farmington. After the guest speaker addresses the group, the meeting will include club business, presentation of a door prize, raffle drawings, snacks and visiting.

Members of the Garden Club are also planning to host a fundraising bake sale, on the campus at El Portal Middle School on First Street, during the citywide yard sale day in Escalon, Saturday, Oct. 7. Hours for the bake sale will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
