Each December many remember and sing or hum the songs of the season. American Association of University Women (AAUW), Oakdale, Riverbank, Escalon Branch members and guests will do just that at their holiday gathering on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.

The Oakdale Silver Strummers Ukulele Troupe will be there to lead the group in humming along to old standards like Jingle Bells, Silent Night, Silver Bells, and other holiday favorites. In addition to enjoying these classics, attendees will learn some interesting and surprising tidbits of information about some of the songs and their composers. From the rollicking Jingle Bell Rock to the tranquil Silent Night, hummers will be musically transported to a place of joy, happiness and peace. To stay safe in this COVID environment the audience is encouraged to hum rather than sing or to wear a mask if singing.

Members and visitors must be fully vaccinated; wearing masks indoors, and social distancing is strongly encouraged. Prospective members interested in attending this meeting can learn the location or get further information by calling (209) 847-0271.
