FERRY FESTIVAL
ART resize

The recent Salmon Festival hosted in Knights Ferry provided multiple opportunities for learning as well as having fun. Top photo, Shawn Estes of the U.S. Forest Service, left, explains a diorama regarding the water supply to Oakdale residents Efrain Gutierrez and Kristina Martinez while, at side, six-year-old Brielle Gee of Modesto admires her fish print, displayed by Candace Sigmond, learning about the life cycle of the salmon while working on the piece of artwork. The festival drew hundreds to the Army Corps of Engineers Park and Stanislaus River in Knights Ferry earlier this month, for a full day of activities, music, fun and food.
