Kenneth Mark Verschelden and Julia Lynne Criswell have announced their plans to wed as husband and wife.
Kenny proposed to Julia at home in July with an heirloom diamond, from her late great grandmother’s wedding ring from the Great Depression. The couple announced the engagement to family and close friends at a private dinner.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Ranjit and Karen Basi and John and Kimberly Criswell. Lisa Padilla, Rylee Basi and Ranjit Basi Jr. are her siblings. She is a 2002 Oakdale High School graduate and 2007 CSU Stanislaus graduate with a BA in liberal studies with a multiple subject teaching credential. She is currently teaching 5th grade at University Charter School.
The prospective groom is the son of Jerry and Sue Marshall and Mark and Shauna Verschelden. Bryan Verschelden and Sage Verschelden are his siblings. He is a 2000 Beyer High School graduate and 2005 University of Arizona graduate with a BS in regional development and business administration. He is currently an agent at Basi Insurance Services, Inc.
The couple is set to wed Jan. 29, 2011 at the Casa Real in Livermore.
