Oakdale varsity volleyball coach Kaitlin Burke said the teams that take the court for OHS came together recently for a final review of their season and also took a look ahead at what’s to come in 2023.
“Three months can go by really quick,” Burke said of the volleyball season. “All of August and the first two weeks of September were full of scrimmages and preseason matches to help prepare the teams for league. Varsity competed in the High Sierra Tournament in Reno as well as the Stockton Classic and VOL tournaments.”
Meanwhile, the freshmen and JV both competed in the Stockton Classic and VOL tournaments. Throughout the season, the athletes also excelled within the classroom and support one another on and off the court.
“There are many bonding and fundraising opportunities during this time that add to the success of this program. We would like to begin volunteering within our supportive community as well. We are looking forward to our fall season and starting open gyms/conditioning in June,” Burke explained. “Open gyms are held at Oakdale High and available to all incoming freshmen through seniors.”
More information will be coming soon on the Open Gym opportunities.
For the 2022 season, the teams saw plenty of success due to hard work, determination and a team-first mentality.
