In their longest road trip of the season, Oakdale tennis players served up a pair of victories. This week the boys traveled to take on both Weston Ranch and Kimball.

“What a great week, those were the two longest road trips, you might as well win if you have to put all that extra time in,” said Mustangs head coach Grant Miller.

Their successful week kicked off with a 9-0 win over the Cougars. All six singles competitors earned straight sets wins. Liam Peters won 6-1, 6-1 over Brandon Le. Frankie Dutra earned a 6-2, 6-1 win over Tony Arteaga. Caleb Poling defeated Maxwell Shipong 6-0, 6-0. Mark Chavez battled for a 6-1, 6-4 win over Michael Hillier. Zach Nielson made short work of Mathew Mesa 6-1, 6-0. Jimmy Homer won his match 6-0, 6-0 over Wilson Tomasino.

“It’s been fun this year, I came into the year just wanting to make the team and now that I have, I want to improve each day,” said straight sets winner Homer.

In doubles action, Teo Diaz and Shivam Mistry won 6-1, 6-0 over Vincent Perez and Sergio Flores. Max Moore and Chris Frye won 6-1, 6-1 over Jeremy and Christian Labine. Earning a win via forfeit was Hayden Hill and Aiden Rodriguez.
