Kelsey Cadwell of Oakdale recently competed in the 27th annual International Finals Youth Rodeo. She got some great experience at the July 7-12 event in Oklahoma. She joined more than 825 of the top high school rodeo athletes from around the world for the 2019 IFYR. In barrel racing she ended up 168th out of 219 with times of 21.465 and 21.569; in pole bending she took 77th out of 103 with times of 25.583 and 30.689; and in breakaway roping, she ended up tied for 72nd-76th out of 230 with times of 2.8 and a no time. The International Finals Youth Rodeo, held annually since 1993, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that presents top high school athletes with a professional rodeo. The internationally-recognized IFYR is held annually at the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
