This week will see the return of Oakdale High School sports on campus.

Friday night, Aug. 13 all three football teams host Tracy High School in a scrimmage. Freshman, junior varsity and varsity all take the field. Freshman and junior varsity take the field at 5 p.m. and the varsity caps off the night starting at 7 p.m.

The regular season is set to open on Friday night, Aug. 20 inside The Corral against longtime rival, Sonora, with a 5 p.m. start for the JV and varsity with a 7 p.m. start time.

Freshman football will be at Sonora on Thursday, Aug. 19 at 6 p.m.

Volleyball girls take the court Saturday morning when they welcome in Golden Valley, Escalon and Beyer for the GEBO scrimmage. All three levels will be playing throughout the day starting at 8:30 a.m.

Oakdale’s varsity begins the day with an 8:30 a.m. match against Beyer, followed by matches with Golden Valley at 9:10 a.m. and Escalon at 9:50 a.m.

JV play starts at 10:40 a.m. with Beyer while the freshman girls start their round robin play at 12:40 p.m., taking on Beyer.

The girls continue their preseason with two more scrimmages as they travel to Hughson on Tuesday, Aug. 17 and home against Waterford on Thursday, Aug. 19. All three levels play starting at 4 p.m.

Regular season action for volleyball begins on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at home against Kimball.

Oakdale’s other fall sports, including boys and girls water polo, cross country, tennis and golf all begin their season later in the month. Currently the ruling for attending the games and events remain the same. Wear a mask if not vaccinated, and practice social distancing. All events are also subject to change due to the pandemic.
