Senior running back and linebacker Marcus Hernandez has been stellar all season, and led Oakdale to a 49-7 win over Vista del Lago on Nov. 18 in the quarterfinal round of the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs.
Hernandez returned an interception for a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage and broke into the end zone on rushes of 55 and 24 yards later in the game. He finished with 123 rushing yards on 13 carries.
The senior standout earns Athlete of the Week recognition from The Leader for his terrific postseason effort. His skills were also on display during the SJS semifinal on Friday.
