Oakdale High School sophomore Ryan Meyer qualified for the 2019 CIF NorCals after shooting a 72 at the Masters. The Sac-Joaquin Section Masters was held on Monday, May 13 at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton. As a team Oakdale shot 411. Out of the 13 teams the Mustangs tied for sixth place. Earning first place was Jesuit, which shot a team score of 378 in the 18-hole tournament.

Meyer qualified as an individual for the NorCals, slated on Monday, May 20 at El Macero Golf and Country Club.

Mustang Calvin Reed just missed the NorCals cut as he shot a 78 at The Masters while Tristan Jaramillo ended his high school career by shooting an 82. Freshman Ryan Wheatley turned in a score of 89. Rounding out the day for Oakdale were Grant Weber at 90 and Rocky Richardson at 95.

Oakdale’s 2019 campaign may be over but the team had a season to remember. They went undefeated in Valley Oak League play and were league champions. They were runners up at the Divisionals earlier this month as well.
