Track Runs Away From Lathrop In Home Meet

Oakdale High School’s boys and girls track and field teams dominated visiting Lathrop on Thursday, April 12. The boys team defeated Lathrop 101-26 and the girls crafted an 85-47 win.

In boys discus, Ben Chappell took first place with a 140 foot toss. Jorge Barajas and Michael Becerra took second and third. Barajas took first in shot put with a 49 foot, two inch toss. In high jump Hunter Falconi placed first with a jump of five feet, eight inches. Falconi also took first in the triple jump. Senior Josh Jacobson and freshman Zeke Saffar entertained the large crowd on hand as the two finished with two close finishes on the track. Jacobson got the best of Saffar in the 100 meter race but Saffar edged Jacobson by a nose in the 200 meters. James Forkner took first in the 3200 meter race. The foursome of Jacobson, Saffar, Falconi and John Foreman took first in the 4x100 meter relay.

For the girls, sophomore Kayden Legan placed first in three events, winning the 800, 1600 and 3200 meter races. Kyla Budine placed first in the high jump and Kyndall Green placed first in the pole vault. Emma Harper placed first in the discus and Angie Lowry tossed her way to first in shot put. Cassy England took first in the triple jump, long jump and the 100 meter hurdles.

This week Oakdale hosts East Union on Thursday, April 19 at 3:30 p.m.
