Track, Field Results Incomplete Against Sierra
track

For only the second time in almost 100 Valley Oak League meets, the Oakdale varsity girls track and field team lost in VOL action. At least according to unofficial results.

On Thursday, March 15 Oakdale went to Sierra High School and lost to the host Wolves 70.5-60.5. No official times or distances were provided to The Leader upon press time as Dave Bacigalupi, Oakdale High School Athletic Director and a coach with the track and field team, said he did not receive them from the Sierra High School coaching staff. Bacigalupi did add that the varsity boys won 83-51 and that the junior varsity teams were also successful on the trip.

The junior varsity girls won 86-40 and the JV boys won 69-49; however the official results of times and distances were still waiting to be finalized by the Sierra High School staff as of The Leader’s press time.

The week ahead is shaping up to be a busy one for the teams as they host Manteca on Thursday, March 22 inside The Corral with a start time of 3:30 p.m.

Friday afternoon, Oakdale welcomes in individuals from both Merced and San Joaquin counties for the Tri County Clash. This meet is for those varsity competitors who qualified from their county meets earlier this month. Start time for this meet is scheduled for 3 p.m.
