The Oakdale Stampede traveled to Turlock High School to face the Bulldogs in Cencal Youth Football action on Saturday. For the varsity it was a successful road trip, and for the junior varsity and peewee teams it was a long trip back to the Cowboy Capital of the World.
Oakdale’s varsity team played under the lights and came out on top with 32-6 victory over the Bulldogs. Following the win Oakdale now sits in second place in the AFC (7-1, 4-1). The team has outscored their opposition 303-58 and will play host to the Thunder (3-5, 2-3) Saturday, Oct. 20 inside The Corral. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The junior varsity Stampede took a difficult road loss as they fell 44-14. This was the second straight road loss for the team. Oakdale started off 3-0 in the AFC and has since dropped two straight and are currently in third place of the AFC standings. Oakdale (6-2, 3-2) will play host to the Thunder (4-4, 3-2). The Thunder are coming off a 30-0 victory over Ceres. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Oakdale’s young peewee group fell 31-13 to Turlock. It was their second straight loss and they are now sitting in fourth place in the AFC standings. The team is hosting the Thunder on Saturday. Both teams come in at 4-4 overall, 2-3 in league play. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. inside The Corral.
