Stampede Gears Up For Cencal Playoffs

The regular season of the Cencal Youth Football League has come to a close. For the Oakdale varsity Stampede it ended on a high note with a 51-14 home win over the Modesto Broncos. With the win the Stampede finished the regular season with a record of 9-1 overall, 5-1 in league, to place second in the AFC standings. The team will have the second seed in the playoffs and will host the Turlock Bulldogs. Oakdale defeated them 32-6 earlier this season. Kickoff for the playoff game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at The Corral at Oakdale High School.

The junior varsity team defeated the Broncos 51-21 on Saturday. Oakdale’s JV finished the season with an 8-2 overall record, 4-2 in league. The third seeded Stampede will host the second seed Cougars of Golden Valley. The Cougars defeated the Stampede 39-6 on Oct. 7. Kickoff for this game is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Saturday inside The Corral.

Oakdale is the host school for all AFC playoffs.

The season came to a close for the peewee Stampede following a rough 18-14 loss. The boys finished with an overall record of 4-6, 2-4 in league.

For the rookie team, the boys will take on the Bulldogs of Turlock on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
