Season Comes To Close For Varsity Golf Boys

The Oakdale boys golf team saw their season come to a close on Monday, May 9. Oakdale Golf and Country Club was the host site for the 2016 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division III Divisional Tournament. The Mustangs had six representatives in the tournament in hopes of making it to the 2016 Masters Tournament. As a team, Oakdale finished fifth on the day with a total score of 440; only the top two teams advanced, which were the Central Catholic Raiders (382) and Vista del Lago Eagles (397).

Oakdale’s second ranked Calvin Reed placed 18th overall, shooting 83 on the day. Teammates David Myrtakis, who was ranked number one on the team, placed 27th shooting 85 and Greg Wikoff placed 28th as he was one stroke behind Myrtakis with an 86. Rounding out the day for Oakdale were Tristian Jaramillo (92, placed 35th); Zackary Tamburrino (94, placed 40th) and Logan Black (103, placed 49th).

Only the top three from the field, not on a qualifying team, advanced to the Masters Tournament, all three individuals shot a 75 on the day.

On the season, Oakdale placed third in the Valley Oak League.
