Oakdale Swims Past Lathrop
OHS Mustangs

In the 2018 season opener Oakdale traveled to Lathrop to take on the Spartans for Valley Oak League swimming action. Both the boys and girls Mustangs teams made short work of the home squads. The girls won 135-34 and the boys claimed a 122-18 victory to open the season 1-0. The meet was held on Friday, March 2.

For the girls, Jensen Perry helped power Oakdale to the win. She placed first in the 200 freestyle, 200 IM, the 50 freestyle, and she was also on the first place 200 medley relay as well as the 200 freestyle relay. Also contributing to the road win were Neesa Deleon, Daytona McGinnis, Hannah Lee, Bethany Metcalfe, Juliette Leibenson, Whitney Lee, Peighton Campbell, Kassidy Houch, Madi Blanc, Alyssa Castano, Logan Nord and Kayla Peterson, all of whom placed in the top three of their events.

As for the boys, Ethan Perry had a big day for the Mustangs. Perry finished first in the 200 meter freestyle, first in the 400 freestyle relay along with Caden Nord, Stash Perry and Chandler Neal and also helped the 200 medley relay team claim first alongside Aron Cameron, Caden Nord and Chandler Neal. Cole Liekhus, David Terwilliger, Jonathon Speers, Dyllon Jones and Ryan Romito all placed in the top three of their respective events that afternoon.

This Saturday, March 10 the Mustangs host the annual March Madness Invite where schools from all over the Sac-Joaquin Section and surrounding areas compete. The event is scheduled for a 9 a.m. start time. However, on the eve of the event, Oakdale will host Kimball in Valley Oak League action with a start time of 3:30 p.m.
