The final page has been written for some of the Mustang and Lady Mustang clubs in the 2015 season. Oakdale’s cross country and girls tennis club’s seasons came to an end this past week.

The Oakdale Mustangs took a group of cross country hopefuls to Angels Camp for the 2015 CIF Sac-Joaquin Subsection Meet on Saturday, Nov. 7. Emerging from the pack and advancing to the Section Finals were Kristin Aguilar and Daniel Prado, who qualified as individuals. Aguilar and the Lady Mustangs finished 12th overall in the team three-mile run, with the top 10 teams advancing to Sections. Aguilar finished with a time of 22:37. The boys also finished 12th overall, missing the team cut. Prado finished with a time of 18:03 to continue to the Section meet as an individual runner.

“Athletes ran really well. We finished right where I thought we would. They have had a great season and have gained a lot of experience,” said coach Guy Fowler. “Kristin and Daniel need to focus on trying to improve on their times and to learn from this.”

The Section Meet is scheduled Saturday, Nov. 14 at Folsom.

Meanwhile, on the tennis court, Oakdale’s Lady Mustangs took an early playoff exit with a loss to El Capitan on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Oakdale fell 6-3 in the play-in game.
