The Oakdale varsity girls basketball team had a busy holiday week, as the squad competed in three games.

In dramatic fashion the girls defeated Central Valley 43-42 on Monday, Dec. 19, but fell to Calaveras 44-30 on the road on Thursday, Dec. 22. No results for the team’s road game against Hughson were submitted to The Leader as of press time. Oakdale travels to Waterford on Thursday, Dec. 29 with tipoff scheduled for 6 p.m. and will travel to Downey on Friday, Dec. 30 in a game scheduled for 7 p.m.

JUNIOR VARSITY

In the girls’ trio of games, they went 1-2 over the holiday week. Oakdale won 46-26 over Central Valley on Monday, Dec. 19 but stumbled the following two games. Oakdale suffered a heartbreaking 34-33 road loss to Hughson and were blown out by Calaveras 35-11 on Thursday, Dec. 22 on the road. Oakdale will travel to Waterford on Thursday, Dec. 29 and wrap up the four game road trip on Friday, Dec. 30 against Downey.

FRESHMEN

No stats or scores were reported to The Leader during the holiday week. The freshmen were scheduled to play Central Valley, Hughson and Pacheco over the break. Oakdale takes on Waterford and Downey this week.
