Gators Welcome Teams To Oakdale Aquatic Center

In their first home meet of the summer, the Oakdale Gators youth swimmers hit the pool for a multi-team recreational meet. On Saturday, July 8 Turlock, Modesto, Lodi and Tracy visited the Oakdale High School Aquatic Center for the day of swimming. There were several events throughout the day but no official points were kept. Here is a look at the Oakdale swimmers who placed in the top five for their events, with name spellings and information provided by coaches.

Alivia Antinetti finished first place in her female 13-14 breaststroke, Jeremiah Basnight finished third in the male 8 and under 50 yard freestyle, Maya Baza placed fifth in the female 11-12 100 yard IM, Samantha Blanc placed third in the 8 and under 25 yard freestyle and 25 yard backstroke. Blanc also placed fourth in the 25 yard butterfly.

Christopher Cancino placed third in the 13-14 100 yard breast and backstroke events and fifth in the 50 yard freestyle. Competing in four events on the day and placing in the top five in three of them was Joana Cancino, placing third in the female 13-14 100 yard butterfly and fourth in both the 100 yard breaststroke and freestyle. Also placing in the top five in three events was Allison Copland, third in the female 9-10 50 yard butterfly, fourth in a pair of events, the 100 yard IM and 50 yard breaststroke. In four events, Andrew Copland placed second in two events and third in two more. Copland placed second in the male 9-12 100 yard IM and in the 50 yard breaststroke. He placed third in the 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard freestyle.

Five events, five top five finishes for Seth Esteves. He placed second in the male 11-12 50 yard freestyle, 50 yard backstroke, 50 yard butterfly and the 100 yard freestyle and also placed fifth in the 50 yard breaststroke. Emma Fazer placed fifth in the female 11-12 50 yard breaststroke. Avery Gleason placed fifth in the female 9-10 year old 100 yard IM. Gavin Gleason placed fourth in the male 9-10 50 yard breaststroke. Alexia Jablon placed third in the female 11-12 100 IM, fourth in the 50 yard breaststroke and fifth in the 50 yard freestyle.

Kaci Jericoff competed in five events and placed in the top five in four of them; first in the female 9-10 50 yard breaststroke, second in both the 50 yard backstroke and the 50 yard butterfly, third in the 100 yard freestyle.

Madyson Keating placed third in the female 100 yard breaststroke and fourth in the 50 yard freestyle. Kylie Meek placed third in both the female 13-14 100 yard IM and 100 yard freestyle.

Tyler Mercer earned two first place finishes in the male 9-10 50 yard backstroke and the 50 yard butterfly. He also placed fourth in the 50 yard freestyle and the 50 yard backstroke. Mercer also placed fifth in the 100 yard freestyle.

Emma Nelson turned in an impressive afternoon, first in the 13-14 female 100 yard butterfly, second in the 100 yard breaststroke, third in the 50 yard freestyle and fourth in the 100 yard IM. Alli Oliveira placed fifth in the 50 yard freestyle. Gianna Padilla placed fifth in the female 8 and under 25 yard freestyle. Jordyn Pope placed in the top five three times on Saturday. Pope placed second in two events, female 11-12 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard IM. She also placed fifth in the 50 yard backstroke. Callie Rath placed fourth in the female 8 and under 50 yard freestyle.

Douglas Shrader placed third in the male 13-14 100 freestyle. Samuel Shrader placed fourth in the male 8 and under 25 yard butterfly and fifth in the 50 yard freestyle. Cyrus So placed fourth in the male 8 and under 50 yard freestyle. Trenton Stanton finished third in the male 9-12 100 yard IM and fourth in the 50 yard breaststroke event. Alexis Wheat earned a fourth place finish in the 25 yard backstroke. Brooke Wheat placed first in the female 11-12 50 yard breaststroke and fourth in the 50 yard butterfly.

The Gators finish the season at Oakdale High School on July 22.
