Free Boat Inspections On Sunday, March 19
check mark

The 11th annual free boat inspection by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is scheduled at the Cost Less Parking Lot (by Cindy’s Restaurant) at 888 N. Yosemite Ave., Oakdale, this coming weekend.

Scheduled for Sunday, March 19, the free boat inspections begin at 9 a.m.

Each inspection takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes.

All types of motorized water vessels are eligible for the inspection service, including boats, personal water crafts and more.

For more information, call Doug Miller at 209-840-3148. You can also visit www.CGAUX.ORG for detailed information on what is needed to pass your free vessel safety check.

If your boat doesn’t pass, no citation is issued at that time. You are provided a written report regarding how to correct any discrepancies.

Vessels passing the safety checks will receive a U.S. Coast Guard/Auxiliary Decal. Getting the decal informs Coast Guard/Auxiliary, Harbor Patrol, Sheriff/Police and other boating law enforcement and safety agencies that your boat was in full compliance with all federal and state boating laws.

The free boat inspection service is presented by “Oakdale Offshore” and inspections will be performed by members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
