Cross Country Team At UOP Invitational

Saturday morning the Oakdale cross country teams headed to Stockton for the University Of Pacific Invitational Cross Country Meet.

In a five kilometer race the varsity boys placed 22nd out of 41 teams. James Forkner finished the race at 17:13 and teammates Russell Pabalan (18:03) and Cade Middaugh (18:52) also competed for Oakdale. The freshman and sophomore boys team finished 11th out of 21 teams. Tanner Cusano finished at 10:54 and Austin Bruner (11:46) and Brayden Farris (12:22) also ran for Oakdale in a two mile event.

On the girls side the varsity girls did not fill a whole team. Kayden Legan (19:58) placed 25th overall amongst the runners. Paris Thompson finished the five kilometer race in 21:33.

“The whole team had a very hard week of practice and it paid off Saturday when most runners ran season best or lifetime best times,” coach Guy Fowler said. “It was a very positive day for us and sets us up well for the VOL #2 coming up on October 4.”

Oakdale will compete at Tracy’s Eagal Lakes in the second Valley Oak League meet on Wednesday, Oct. 4 with race time scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
